The Voice Of Switzerland

A Brazilian singer takes the stage on The Voice of Switzerland and impresses the judges by singing in Swiss German. The song performed was “Nr. 1” by Swiss singer Adrian Stern. Two judges turned their chairs after noticing a subtle foreign accent very similar to the accent of Brazilians who speak German in Renatim’s interpretation. Pop coach and singer Marc Sway, who is the son of a Brazilian mother, and coach Philipp Fankhauser, a Swiss blues musician and composer, were genuinely impressed. One of the most remarkable moments came when Marc Sway asked, “Brazilian?” To Renato’s surprise, Fankhauser who had also turned his chair addressed him in Portuguese. Both were astonished to realize that Renatim understood almost none of the language, yet was able to sing flawlessly in Swiss German dialect. Impressive, right?
